Samer turned 40 this year, and we decided to do a week in Portugal for his birthday. The trip started with just the 2 of us, but by the end, we were a group of 12 people ringing in his birthday in style. You’ll need to read to the end to get to that part of the tale.
I loved Portugal. It’s a beautiful country with wonderful people. I found their hospitality to be out of this world. Unfortunately, failing memory, no notes, and busy two months will make these posts more challenging to write than previous entries. I didn’t take a breath during the trip to sit and journal, so I am putting together these entries from a memory that is certainly not as sharp as I wish it to be. At times, this post feels more like a research project than a travelogue, but I’ll do my best to come up with something for all of you.
