Today I went on a short run to my bank and then decided to stop at the famous Hotel Quito which is next door to my house. I was going to buy a gym membership. I had one last spring, that gave me 30 visits over 90 days for $90 (a lovely gift form Michele). I went to the front desk to buy it today and they gave me a new price list that did not include my old plan.
The cheapest plan was $450 for three months! I almost choked, then asked about my old special and they told me it was gone. I went home and told Michele and she agreed to come talk to them for me. She told me she knew the people at the gym.
When we returned, the front desk sent us to the gym to talk to the woman who runs it. We waited twenty minutes and she never showed up. We then left and I was pretty furious. Michele talked to the front desk again and then they admitted they had the deal, but a boss had to approve the sale of it.
Accordingly, that boss was no where around.
I think I am not going to use the gym and just plan a jogging route. That is probably a lot cheaper, I am just going to need the motivation to actually do it. However, I am going to miss that damn elliptical machine.
