Guayasamín

I finally made it to the museum of the artist Oswaldo Guayasamín. He is a famous artist from Ecuador. His project that was finished post-mortem called the La Capilla del Hombre was an incredible exhibit of the pain the artist experienced by watching the ravaging of South America. When he was younger he painted far more traditionally, but it was during the era of Pinochet in Chile, that he began to paint his hurt and outrage.

It is not fair to compare the artist to others, but the entire time I am walking through the museum I keep thinking, he is cross between Pablo Picasso and Francisco Goya. A very incredible museum that I will definitely return to int he future.

PS I did lose my Paul Smith glasses on the way there, which makes me very disappointed. oy.
