Another Judge

The nomination of Katherine Meirs to the Supreme Court of the United States is not all that interesting. It amazes me the right has started this campaign that she may be a liberal in disguise. Why would George W. Bush keep a liberal close to him all of these years? There is no way on earth this woman is some clandestine fighter for rights of the down trodden. This reeks of another Karl Rove ploy. The democrats are so dumb, that they get confused when the right seemingly opposes someone. Can the dems hate someone that the right hates of well? Their answer is probably going to be the wrong one, and they will be slow to opposition. Once again Rove cast the line and we bit; hook, line, and sinker.

The other stupid opposition piece I hear is that she has no judicial experience. Well that is in complete compliance with the US constitution, where you do not even need a law degree to become a Justice. If we recall, Bobby Kennedy did not spend one day in court before he was made the Attorney General of the United States. If we are going to successfully stop this woman, than we have to have a real coherent strategy in stopping her.

And truthfully, it is not about her, it is about George W, Bush. We know from his track record that she is bad. He does not surround himself with good people. George Bush has contempt for American civilization that is unrivaled. Why are we not asking the question, “George, why did you pick her?” I fear that once again we are going to lose this battle, and they are going to have two people on the court that will carry out Bush policies until their deathbed.
