I am leaving Rio in a few hours, and can I tell all of you how much I loved. It is a beautiful and cosmopolitan city that I just adore. I finished today by sitting on the Copacabana beach, and have a wonderful savory crepe afterwards. I am off to Belo Horizante so that I can spend some time in the state of Minas Gerais. Brazil is very VERY expensive, and the prices the Lonely Planet quotes are completely incorrect. Most things are approximately double what is quoted in the book, so I have to do some fidgeting with the budget. No problems though, just another part of life on the road.
