I will admit that on November 3rd, when a friend called me to ask about the likelihood of another stolen election I scoffed. It was depressing, we the good, had been legitimately beat by them, the bad and even if they did steal it there was no way to uncover such a scandal. So in the past month report after report has been filed showing voter fraud, systematic voter suppression, and complete disregard for peoples’ constitutional right to vote. But had the election been stolen? I had not yet been convinced … until maybe today. I really thought all of the screwed up voting irregularities had been because of some republican fiddling (though I was never convinced it was enough to steal the election), but mostly I assumed it was due to the absolute third world nature of our voting procedure. I know the computer voting systems could be hacked, hell, anything can be hacked, but even if it happened, we would never know. I thought it was better just not to obsess over it.
Then I read something today…
Today Blue Lemur reported that a Florida Congressman paid a programmer to write a program that would exploit the weaknesses of the computer voting system. I do not know if this is true, but if it is, it is unbelievable. It is utterly absurd, that they would be this foolish as to not have this guy bumped off or given him an ambassadorship far far away. If this turns out to be true, good god I hope that America does not sit idly by.
