If I happened to get into all three of my top choices, this is what each would cost me. I am looking only at tuition and fees.
Berkeley – 2 years/4 semesters – $42,066.00
University of Michigan -2 years/4 semesters – $67,468.00
CMU – 1 year/3 semesters – $57,229.00
Berkeley is based on the assumption that I could get instate tuition my second year. I know it is a big assumption, but I will research the possibility. There is a section on the website that has information about establishing residency.
Michigan states it is nearly impossible to get in state tuition the second year. The cost is entirely an out of state approximation.
